SPURS SEE OFF RIVAL BIDDERS FOR BRAZIL ACE

-

Tottenham have sealed a £60 million deal for Everton’s Richarlison.

The Brazil forward has signed a five-year deal at Spurs, moving to London after four years at Goodison Park.

Richarlison has now become Tottenham’s fourth summer signing, following Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic and Yves Bissouma into the north London club.

Spurs are understood to have fended off competition from both Arsenal and Chelsea to complete the high-profile deal for Richarlison.

The 25-year-old will add further competition and depth to Tottenham’s attacking ranks, with Spurs having been keen to recruit a forward who could play right across the frontline for some time.

Richarlison notched 53 goals in 152 games in four years at Everton, joining the Toffees in 2018 after a year at Watford.

France international midfielder Matteo Guendouzi has completed his move to Marseille from Arsenal.

The 23-year-old spent last season on loan at the Stade Velodrome and, as part of that deal, Marseille had the option to make the move permanent this summer.

Guendouzi joined the Gunners in 2018 and was initially a hit at the Emirates Stadium before falling out of favour under Mikel Arteta. He spent the 2020-21 campaign on loan at Hertha Berlin before returning to his homeland to link up with Marseille last summer.

He follows compatriot Alexandre Lacazette in trading north London for France this summer after the striker rejoined Lyon.

Crystal Palace have signed goalkeeper Sam Johnstone on a four-year contract.

The 29-year-old makes the move to Selhurst Park after his contract with Championship side West Brom expired.
