Imperialism still reigns in the UK
Sir, – I have now turned 80, still contributing tax to the state, but is there something not quite right for anyone turning 80 that the pensions service decides to award an “age addition” of 25p per week?
Do they really think and expect pensioners to clap their hands and jump for joy over the state’s generosity?
So much for double digits, don’t you think? I think we
can blame our shambolic Westminster governments along with all Conservative thinkers who for decades have worked and steered the people of this nation.
Little wonder that we lack progress in all fields.
As for imperialism, it does still reign for we have through BBC media, etc, highlights of all the royals’ new fashions in clothes, diamond brooches, necklaces, tiaras, and those who have once more been made to carry out local and state visits to what is left of the commonwealth, appearing I would suggest to try and rubber stamp all the imperial Conservative political reasons for the royals’ existence while many of the public are struggling in these modern times to pay for food, heating bills, etc.
In it together – I think not.
Many Scots are sick and tired of the way Scotland is treated, be it verbally or politically.
Truth, untruth are words the Westminster governments cannot differentiate between, even when dealing with Scotland’s referendums.
Once more the battle for Scotland has commenced and once more Westminster governments will try to use all their political might under the name of the crown whose wealth only grew through the taking of other nations’ assets.
Give and take? Well they are two words again that still have no real meaning to the antiquated imperial thinkers.
