Swift progress for Jeanfield as McLeish fires opening goal

Jeanfield Swifts remain top of the Premier Division on goal difference from Penicuik Athletic after a 2-0 win over Broxburn Athletic at Riverside Stadium but they left it very late with the goals coming in the last five minutes.

Chris McLeish put Swifts in front with just four minutes left before Connor McLaren doubled the advantage in stoppage time to make sure of another three points for Ross Gunnion’s men.

Dundonald Bluebell enjoyed a 3-1 win over Blackburn United at New Murrayfiel­d.

Blackburn took the lead on 28 minutes through Scott Richards but Bluebell were level just four minutes later through Regan Lumsden.

Lewis McKenzie collided with the post on the hour but still managed to stab the ball home to put his side in front before Lumsden grabbed his second and Bluebell’s third with 20 minutes remaining.

Crossgates Primrose had to come from behind before taking all three points from their trip to the Lothians, beating Haddington Athletic 2-1 at Millfield.

Shaun Hill gave Haddington a firstminut­e lead only for David Cross to draw Crossgates level on eight minutes. Archie Campbell grabbed the winner on 39 minutes.

Oakley United were thrashed 5-1 at home by Linlithgow Rose. Stevie Day gave Oakley the lead just after the half hour but the visitors hit back to lead 3-1 at the break through a Greg Skinner goal on 41 minutes and a brace from Mark Stowe on 43 and 45 minutes.

Skinner grabbed a second on 61 minutes before Alan Sneddon scored the fifth with a couple of minutes left.

Hill of Beath lost 2-1 at Penicuik Athletic. Andy Forbes gave the home side the lead on 42 minutes and Taylor Hendry added a second on 72 minutes. Lyle Kellican pulled a goal back for Haws in stoppage time.

Inverkeith­ing Hillfield Swifts trail leaders Jeanfield by three points with a game in hand after a 3-2 win at Vale of Leithen. Vale took a fourth-minute lead through Deya but Swifts were level very quickly through Liam Kelly before Cumming added a second on 27 minutes.

Greig Spence struck a third goal for Swifts on 83 minutes before Vale pulled a goal back through Brand with five minutes to go.

In the First Division, Luncarty are three points clear at the top after beating Kennoway Star Hearts 5-1 at home.

Craig Mitchell opened the scoring for Robbie Holden’s side on eight minutes and, three minutes later, Rhys Davies made it 2-0.

The visitors pulled a goal back on 21 minutes but after half-time Luncarty moved up a gear and Scott Sutherland made it 3-1 before Davies completed his hat-trick with two goals in three minutes.

Lochore Welfare beat Coldstream 2-1 at Central Park. The visitors went in front on the hour but Sean Cusick drew Welfare level six minutes later.

On 77 minutes, Welfare saw Matty Christie sent off and had a penalty saved. However, with five minutes to go, Ethan Anderson made sure of victory with a second goal for Lochore.

Glenrothes surrendere­d a 2-0 lead at Meadowbank Stadium against Leith Athletic before two late goals saw the Fife side take the points from a 4-2 victory.

Rosyth went down 2-0 at The Pennypit against Preston Athletic and had to play 77 minutes with 10 men after Tam Hampson was sent off after 13 minutes.

Burntislan­d Shipyard lost 2-0 at Dunbar United. Kirkcaldy & Dysart went down 2-1 at home to Whitehill Welfare. Kinnoull drew 2-2 with Dunipace

In the Second Division, St Andrews United beat Syngenta 2-0, while Thornton Hibs beat Ormiston 3-0.

Edinburgh United and Lochgelly Albert drew 1-1 and Newburgh lost 3-2 to Edinburgh South.
