- AMIE FLETT

Bastille have announced a show at Dundee’s Slessor Gardens next year. The alt-rock band – known for hits like Pompeii and Happier – will take to the stage at the city’s waterfront on Saturday July 29.

The show is part of the group’s Bad Blood X tour.

Bastille are the first band to be confirmed for a show at Slessor Gardens next year.

It follows on from Dundee Summer Sessions this year featuring Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Stereophonics along with shows by Paloma Faith and Simply Red.

The gig is being promoted by Grandslam Live Ltd, part of the Liz Hobbs Group that has organised shows at the waterfront venue since it opened in 2016.

DF Concerts, which is behind Summer Sessions, has not confirmed whether it will make a return for 2023.

Other events already confirmed for Slessor Gardens next year include Ibiza Orchestra Live and the Sausage and Cider Festival in August.

Tickets for Bastille’s show go on sale next Friday at 9am.

It comes after the band played a stripped-back show at Fat Sam’s in February.

The Bad Blood X tour is celebrating the 10th anniversary of their charttopping debut album, which featured Pompeii.

They have since released albums Wild World, Doom Days and Give Me the Future – selling more than 11 million records and enjoying 1.5 billion video views online.

Liz Doogan-Hobbs, CEO of Grandslam Live Ltd, said: “We are delighted to confirm that we will be bringing Bastille to Dundee Slessor Gardens next summer.

“Bastille are a phenomenon and we know our Dundee fans will enjoy what promises to be an epic party weekend.
