Christmas time, mistletoe and a little too much wine: top tips to avoid a festive hangover

-

Do you usually rock a little too hard around the Christmas tree? Does the mistletoe and wine flow a little too freely? We get it, it’s Christmas, it’s the season of overindulging and overserving. It’s part of the fun of it all; cracking out the bubbles and the old faithful Michael Bublé CDs

This fun all comes with the dreaded hangover. You know, the sinking feeling when you wake up, the fuzzy head and that awful metallic taste in your mouth? You wake up with your make up still on and a little bit of a headache: we have all been there.

We all know how busy this time of year can be, so we want to help you keep going throughout the most wonderful time of the year.

So, here’s some top tips to avoid the festive hangover: Stay

This may seem a little obvious, but try to remember

hydrated

to drink some water between your drinks. Or if that’s too much, drink a good litre when you get home. Your body will thank you for this in the morning. Even leave out some water beside your bed in case you forget.

Stock up on the paracetamol

Another old, yet faithful cure. Good old paracetamol. Make sure you’re stocked up so you can take some the morning after the night before. It can cure the wine-induced headaches that you may have. You can buy paracetamol from most supermarkets and chemists, so it’s an easy thing to get.

Keep vitamins nearby

This one may be a little out of left field, but hear us out. Studies have shown that taking vitamin B can help to cure a hangover. You can usually find dissolvable vitamin D in supermarkets or chemists. They are cheap, yet effective. They also help to boost your mood, which is ideal if you’re a little hungover and grouchy.

Remember to enjoy yourselves, but protect yourselves from the hangover the next day. Christmas time is a time to celebrate, but hangovers can ruin that. Stay safe, stay hydrated and have yourself a merry little Christmas.
