-

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, the fires are lit, the wine is mulling and people are getting together with their loved ones to celebrate. Christmas is a special time of year and it is a time of giving. It’s a time of giving back to those who have been there for you and supported you throughout the year

To get in the festive spirit, why not dig out the Christmas CDs and get rocking around the Christmas tree? Pop those festive candles on and make your whole home smell like a glass of mulled wine. ‘Tis the season and all that.

Christmas is about bringing people together. Have you thought about what you could do to help your local community this year?

The last two years, due to the coronavirus pandemic, have brought some adverse circumstances to local high streets. Why not shop local this Christmas and get your shopping done at local, smaller businesses?

This is a wonderful way to show your support to your local economy and high street.

If you have any spare cans or food kicking about that would maybe go to waste. Why not donate them to your local foodbank? Or, instead of giving Christmas cards this year, why not donate money to the foodbank? This is a wonderfully simple way that you can help people.

There’s so much you can do at this time of year. Another fantastic way to support local is by getting your friends together and going for a festive day out in your local city or town centre. There is so much going on in local cities at this time of year, most places will also have festive deals and menus to try out. Why not go and get a little festive cocktail and dinner with your friends? This would be a perfect way to start getting ready for Christmas.

Why not also go and see your local Panto? This is always a fun evening out and is guaranteed to have you laughing your way into Christmas. There’s always a dame who can provide a barrel of laughs to the audience. This is a fabulous way to support your local theatre.

Christmas can also be a lonely time for people so make sure to check in on your loved ones and make sure everyone is doing okay. This may seem like a small thing, but it can make a huge difference to someone’s day.

Have you got your Christmas dinner sorted yet? If not, maybe it’s time to start thinking of a list of things that you need to get. Christmas dinner can be a lot if you’re unprepared so try and get some ideas flowing in advance to save you a little bit of time and stress.

Don’t forget your pigs in blankets and pudding! You simply cannot forget these Christmas dinner staples.

It’s also important to remember that this is a time of year for happiness and enjoyment. You’ve worked hard all year, it’s time to kick back, relax and pop your feet up. Get all of your loved ones together and remember to have a very Merry Christmas.
