TWO of Television’s favourite antiques experts will be touring Angus this March. Simon Schneider and Tim Hogarth are best known for their many appearances on daytime television and will be at The Queens Hotel in Forfar on Tuesday 15 March, The Northern Hotel in Brechin on Wednesday 16 March, The George Hotel in Montrose on Thursday 17 March and The Town House Hotel in Arbroath on Friday 18 March. The dealers will be offering top prices for antiques, gold and silver and are inviting people looking for a good deal to come along and meet them. Simon and Tim regularly appear on television as antiques experts and are highly trusted and respected for their knowledge and expertise. With almost 60 years’ combined experience of buying and selling antiques, gold and silver, they joined forces to offer the public an opportunity to sell their heirlooms direct and regularly visit Scotland. Simon Schneider said: “Tim and I receive so many enquiries from people asking us to value and buy their antiques, gold and silver that we decided to work together and offer the public a direct opportunity to meet us. We have had a great response and been delighted to meet lovely people everywhere we’ve been. We’ve also discovered some very interesting and unusual items on the way. We pay top cash prices and have hundreds of satisfied clients who were happy to get a great deal. This will be the first time we have had an opportunity to visit Angus and we hope people will search their cupboards and bring along their unwanted antiques and forgotten treasures.” Tim Hogarth commented: ”Although we’re rivals on television Simon and I get on really well and the venues are great fun. Simon and I have our own specialities and together we cover all aspects of the antiques business. This means we can ensure we are able to offer the very best prices for those items we want to buy.” The dealers hope the venues will prove popular and promise no-one will have to wait long. Simon Schneider explained: “Tim and I aim to see everyone who wants to meet us as quickly as possible. We guarantee no queues and no appointments are necessary however we are always happy to do home visits if anyone is unable to come along during the day or has something too large to bring in, in which case please phone or email us to make an appointment.” Simon Schneider and Tim Hogarth both deal extensively in general antiques. Simon is very well known and respected for his knowledge of 20th Century Decorative Arts. He specialises in Art Nouveau and Art Deco but also deals extensively in Silver and Oriental antiques and has a passion for fine ceramics. Simon said: “The market for early 20th Century silver and ceramics is particularly strong at the moment so this is a good time to realise their value. We are always very keen to purchase Moorcroft, Clarice Cliff and Royal Worcester and the market for Oriental ceramics and antiques is very buoyant. I also hope people will bring in some original Art Deco and Art Nouveau items as this area is my speciality and I’m sure we’ll be able to tempt the public with our prices! ” Tim Hogarth specialises in gold, silver and antique jewellery. He is an experienced dealer and an expert in valuing diamonds and precious stones. He also has an extensive knowledge and experience of dealing in gold and silver, medals and vintage wrist watches. Tim said “I’m hoping we’ll find some lovely antique jewellery and I’m keen to buy whatever the condition. Diamond jewellery is particularly sought after at the moment and we we’ll be offering top prices for quality examples. Good quality amber and coral beads are also very wanted and we are always keen to purchase vintage wrist watches, especially Rolex, Cartier, Omega and Patek Phillipe. Gold and silver remains very strong and we will be offering top cash prices to anyone who wants a deal and I’m sure we will discover some interesting and valuable items.”
