A85 victim ‘beautiful inside and out’

Police have named the biker who died in an accident at St Fillans on Sunday as Shona Mitchell from Crieff. Tributes to the 24-yearold were posted online, with one person writing: “Smile on Shona so beautiful inside and out...”

A female motorcycli­st killed in a car crash in Perthshire has been named by police.

Officers revealed the identity of Shona Mitchell who died in a collision on the A85 at St Fillans on Sunday.

The 24-year-old biker from Crieff was pronounced dead at the scene when her bike was involved in a crash with a car.

In a statement Police Scotland said her family were upset by their sudden loss and that she will be greatly missed.

The accident involved a Vauxhall Astra and happened at about 3pm on Sunday.

The driver of the car sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision.

The road was closed to allow an investigat­ion into the accident.

Inquiries into the circumstan­ces of the incident are ongoing and Police Scotland Tayside Division is appealing for anyone who may have informatio­n that could assist officers to call 101.

Tributes to Shona were paid on social networking site Facebook last night.

Grace Hume wrote: “Will forever cherish our memories and you will always be in my heart.

“Keep that beautiful smile on your beautiful face.”

Charmaine Lewis posted: “Smile on Shona so beautiful inside and out you will be missed so much by your friends and family.”
