Season ticket deal will be bargain if Raith go up

Raith Rovers chief executive Eric Drysdale has revealed that the club have been delighted by the response so far from fans to their “early bird” season ticket offer.

Supporters have been queuing at Stark’s Park to buy the briefs since they went on sale earlier this week with sales up considerably on last year.

That is due in no small part to Rovers’ successful Championship campaign with manager Ray McKinnon guiding his team into the promotion play-offs.

And Drysdale admitted that those fans snapping up the early-bird season tickets will have secured themselves an absolute bargain if the dream scenario becomes reality and Raith go up to the Premiership.

The chief executive said: “The tickets have only been on sale since lunchtime on Tuesday but sales were strong and much higher than the same time last year.

“It is too early to say whether we will ultimately see more sales or just quicker sales but it is a good start. They will be on sale at Stark’s Park again on Thursday and we hope to be busy once more.

“The early-bird period has been extended until the last game of the season, whenever that may be.

“If the team do go all the way to secure promotion to the Premiership, then it goes without saying that the early-bird fans will have picked up an absolute bargain.

“Sales will be suspended when the final game has been played and then prices will go up.

“The position the board are in, we need to ensure we have bums on seats and we are delighted that it seems people are responding to the season we are having so far.”
