Airdrie Farm’s oats prove cream of the crop

The best cereals crop in Fife has been judged to be a field of Gerald oats from Roy Fisher at Airdrie Farm.

He achieved the top mark of 94 points in Fife Agricultural Association’s annual crop competition. Winter barley – 1 Edward Baxter, Gilston Mains (Blend), 90 pts, 2 Mike McLaren, Nether Strathkinness (Meridian), 87 pts, 3 Ian Brunton, Balmonth (Glacier), 86 pts.

Spring barley – 1 Bill Arnot, Kilmux (Planet), 82 pts, 2 Jim Jack, Balhousie (Wagon), 80 pts, 3 Jonathan Kilfedder, Wormiston (Optic), 78 pts.
