National inquiry
The Scottish Government is overseeing a national public inquiry into historical abuse of children in institutional care.
A spokesperson said: “The Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry is one of the most wideranging public inquiries that Scotland has ever seen.
“The Scottish Government established the inquiry following recommendations from the Scottish Human Rights Commission through their work with survivors of in-care abuse.
“The inquiry aims to get to the truth of what happened to children in care and how the victims were so badly failed by those who were meant to protect them.”
