Poster to be auctioned in New York

A 60-year-old railway poster by James McIntosh Patrick is set to fetch hundreds of pounds at an auction in America next month.

The 40x50 inch poster, featuring a painting of historic Dryburgh Abbey by McIntosh Patrick, was commissioned by British Railways in around 1955 to promote rail travel in Scotland. It is expected to sell for between £380 and £570 at Swann Auction Galleries in New York on Wednesday August 3.
