Driver ‘critical’

A driver is in a critical condition in hospital after her car crashed into a lamppost in north Ayrshire.

The accident happened at around 5.50am on Tuesday on the A78 Fairlie to Largs road near Hunterston power station.

Police Scotland said the car the woman was travelling in hit a lamppost close to a roundabout at the power station.
