There’s plenty of food for thought across Fife

The pickings have never been so rich for foodie fans in Fife. From homely cafes and coffee shops to great pub grub, restaurants and more, Fife has all the food bases covered.

And it is fitting, as there can be few places in the world to boast such a bountiful natural larder.

This time of year is particularly rich, with berries being harvested all over the county and the combines bringing in other crops such as peas and barley.

Locally reared beef, pork and even more unusual herds such as buffalo all form part of Fife’s larder.

The coastline brings another element to the local produce available to the county’s chefs, with seafood such as lobster and crab being landed.

With such a range of produce to choose from, there really is no excuse for chefs in Fife to produce anything less than stunning food – and that’s what many of them do.

The Kingdom boasts MasterChef the Professionals finalists and even the odd Michelin Star holder plying their trade in its eateries.

If such formal dining isn’t your cup of tea, there are any number of more relaxed eateries to choose from, including award-winning fish and chips served by the shore to family-run eateries.

There are places suitable for every occasion, from a romantic meal for two to the best places to take your friends and family to celebrate a special occasion.

Most also welcome children and will have dedicated menus and facilities such as high chairs and baby changers.
