Night out for staff
“I read recently the book by James Miller entitled The Dam Builders – Power from the Glens,” writes Frank Zwolinski.
“Much to my surprise there was nothing mentioned about the Lubreoch hydro-electric dam in Glenlyon, built between 1951 and 1961. My father worked there as the electrical engineer with James Miller & Partners Ltd, Construction and Civil Engineers.
“The photograph on the right shows the Lubreoch staff on a works night out, and I think the site agent, J.A.C. Beake is crouched at the front.
“As my parents are in the picture, I’m anxious to know where this photograph was taken: perhaps Killin, Lawers, Kenmore or Aberfeldy. I think it was taken around 1957. Maybe one of your readers might be able to give some light on the subject.”
