Fascinating tie in prospect at Mayfield

-

An interesting clash is in prospect at Mayfield tomorrow as DUNDEE HIGH

RUGBY, who are sitting fifth in BT National 1, take on Marr who are in third.

Both have lost one from four starts: Dundee went down to leaders Falkirk; Marr lost to Edinburgh Accies on day one of their league campaign.

Marr have the better differential and one more bonus point, but both sides have been averaging around 40 points per match.

With regular scorers on both sides, Isoa Matacagi for Dundee and Ben Johnston having a serious nose for the line, this could be either a high-scoring contest or one in which both sides cancel each other out.

Rather less challenging to predict is Musselburgh’s visit to Duffus Park.

HOWE OF FIFE have shipped an average of more than 50 points per game from their four matches and they will want to avoid repeating the nightmare of Philiphaugh last week.

Within touching distance of Selkirk at half-time, the final score was 71-20. Haddington head for

CUPAR coming off their first win of the season last week.

Cartha Queens Park sit atop BT National 2 as the only unbeaten side and are running in around 35 points a match, in contrast to

KIRKCALDY, who are ninth in the table with a solitary win but a remarkable five bonus points, four of which are of the four-try variety.

Momentum is with the Glasgow side, and Kirkcaldy will do very well if they head back to Beveridge Park with any kind of point.

Haddington had a bad start to the season but have recovered, won two in a row, and come off a 41-15 win over Greenock last week as they await PERTHSHIRE at Neilson Park.

It has been a miserable start to the season for the North Inch crew, conceding almost 40 points per match as they prop up the table.
