Troublesome points
“It is always nice to see pictures of tramcars as they used to be,” says Alister Lockhart of Broughty Ferry. “I liked the one of the car in Kirkcaldy but could not agree with the caption.
“As a boy I saw many tramcars in Edinburgh when I lived there for two years as a boy. I would argue that the tram has already passed the dog because the long trolley always trailed behind the tram.
“Otherwise it would quickly have come off the power wire. Also there is only a single rail track but the trolley is on the left of the double power wires.
“Using two overhead wires dispensed with the need for often-troublesome overhead points.”
“Please continue publishing interesting photographs like this.”
