Bank giant cuts jobs at Stirling tech centre

-

HSBC is closing its technology centre in Stirling with the loss of almost 90 jobs.

The banking giant said it had told its 230 employees in Forth Valley it is moving the service to Edinburgh and Asia.

About 100 jobs will be relocated to Edinburgh, while IT roles will move to India, China and Poland.

HSBC is reviewing office space and part of its programme is to cut costs by the end of next year.

HSBC employs 3,700 people in Scotland, and said 26 people would be retained at a smaller office in Stirling.
