Stirling, sold 2,525 breeding sheep at their annual sale of regular cast blackface ewes on Wednesday. Records were smashed for this sale, when I Hunter, Dalchirla, presented 10 Blackface Gimmers which were purchased by Robert Cockburn, Errol and A Branagan, County Down at a record price of £300. With a full ringside of buyers forward, all classes of breeding stock were well up on the year. Blackface ewes (1,496) ave £65.15 (+£11.87 on the year), selling to a top of £90 from Greentop Lands and Estates, Glennyhill. Blackface Gimmers (330) ave £93.14 (+£17.13 on the year), selling to a top of £300 from I Hunter, Dalchirla. Cross Ewes (453) ave £71.84 (+£10.64 on the year), selling to a top of £105 for Mule Ewes (1 crop) from J and J Graham, Mains of Burnbank.
