Council playing role in fighting the scourge of cyber crime

The work being done by Perth and Kinross Council to combat cyber crime has been rewarded with a nomination in the Scottish Cyber Awards.

The council has been nominated in the Collaborat­ion with Police Scotland category and will join fellow finalists at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, Edinburgh, for the inaugural event on November 16.

Cyber crime continues to be a major concern in Scotland, costing an estimated £3bn every year.

Chief executive of the Scottish Business Resilience Centre Mandy Haeburn-Little, was delighted to have had such strong interest in the first year of the awards and said that Scotland was a leader in the field.
