“This photograph of mine (see below) might be of interest to readers,” says Donald Abbott of Invergowrie. “It is of the ruin of St Peter’s Kirk at Dargie, Invergowrie.
“The ruin is largely 15th Century, but the site is claimed to be the oldest ecclesiastical foundation north of the River Tay, with a provenance from 431 AD. The claimed founder was St Boniface on a mission to the southern Picts.
“In the grave behind the railing which can just be seen to the right of my photograph, lie the early forbears of the Cox family of Lochee jute fame.”
