Bluebells fight back

-

Dundonald Bluebell had to come from behind at Carmuirs Park against Camelon in the Super League to earn a point.

Jason Quin scored from the spot on 17 minutes before Lewis McKenzie made it 2-0. Camelon stormed back to lead 3-2 before Callum Young earned a point for Stevie Kay’s Bluebell.

Thornton Hibs closed the gap with Blairgowrie at the top of the North Division as they beat East Craigie 2-0 at Memorial Park. Chris Ireland and Garry Thomson were on the mark.

In the South Division Kirkcaldy YM had to fight back twice to earn a point in a 2-2 derby draw against Crossgates Primrose.

Gary Mackie put the icing on the cake in injury time with a fifth for the Jags.

There was something of a shock at New Countess Park as Premier League high flyers Kennoway Star Hearts were thrashed 5-0 by Dunbar United.

Dean Ballantyne helped himself to an 11-minute hat-trick for the Seasiders after Scott Gibson had put his side in front.

Dean Handling made it 5-0 with still 35 minutes left in the game.

Luncarty progressed to the next round with a lightening start, having the game won inside the first 20 minutes.

Goals from Jon Kelly, Damon Gray alongside a brace from Richard Doig saw the Perthshire side race into a 4-0 lead and they never looked in danger.

Fraserburgh did manage to pull a goal back but it was only a consolation.

Coupar Angus scored first and came from behind twice but still lost at home to Forth Wanderers. John Miller put Angus in front on 12 minutes but the visitors equalised on 26 then went in front themselves two minutes before the break. The home side went in level though as Daniel Neath equalised right on half-time.

The visitors restored their lead just after the restart but Angus levelled again through Chris Liversedge.

Wanderers went in front for a third time from the spot on 65 minutes and then made sure with a fifth goal 10 minutes from time.

A Stewart Nicoll goal was nothing more than a consolation as Blairgowrie, somewhat surprisingly, went down 4-1 to Dundee Violet at Glenesk Park.

With new manager Ralph Henderson in charge, Violet romped to victory with goals from Ryan Dignan, Conor McLeod, George Duncan and Craig Batchelor

Oakley United’s lengthy trip to Ayrshire proved fruitless as Lee Richardson’s men went down 4-0 to Irvine Meadow at Meadow Park.

Meadow went in front on 16 minutes through an own goal and scored a second five minutes later through Greg Vernon.

Lee McCrea made it 3-0 with an audacious chip midway through the second half before Graham Boyd made it 4-0 for the home side.

Rosyth made the trip up to the north east to take on Lewis United and returned to Fife 3-1 winners and with a place in the next round.

Daryll Healy, Mike McMillan and Kenzie Duffy were the scorers.

An Anthony Holt goal was enough to see Jeanfield Swifts through to the next round against St Andrews United at Riverside Park but it was far from easy against a hard-working Saints side.

Lochore Welfare found that Kilsyth Rangers just had too much for them and the visitors, with two goals in each half, were comfortable 4-0 winners.
