Foran calls for more passion after lacklustre ICT display

-

Inverness boss Richie Foran hinted at a lack of passion in his side that contributed to their below-par display in a 1-1 draw against Kilmarnock.

The home side lacked spark against a Kilmarnock team that were heading for three points until Lonsana Doumbouya’s late equaliser.

ICT were similarly flat against Rangers the previous week and Foran has already hinted at freshening it up for the trip to Motherwell in midweek.

But he believes the players need to look at themselves first, as to why they weren’t “imposing or exciting” in the final third, while adding that his team talk may not have been passionate enough.

“Too many players had an off day – and we got a point,” he said.

“In the final third we didn’t hold that threat, we didn’t look imposing or exciting, although we created half chances at times. We can be better, but will probably play better and lose games as well.”

Souleymane Coulibaly earlier gave Kilmarnock the lead from the penalty spot after he was bundled to the ground by Brad McKay.

Visiting goalkeeper Jamie MacDonald was barely called into action, something which surprised his manager Lee Clark.

“They weren’t causing us any real problems,” he said

“They had a couple of long shots but they weren’t breaking us down. Usually Jamie makes four or five top quality saves but we looked solid.”

Substitute Chris Burke’s injury-time goal gave Ross County a point against Partick Thistle in a late late show at Firhill.

Midfielder Sean Welsh scored from the spot in the 24th minute and the home side looked on course for their first Ladbrokes Premiership win since the opening day of the season.

However, in the fifth of nine added minutes for an injury to Jags defender Liam Lindsay, Burke, on for Marcus Fraser just after the hour-mark, fired in from 14 yards to make it 1-1, with the home side hanging on in the final moments.
