Youngsters, 13 and 14, charged with vandalism

-

Police in Fife have charged a 13-year-old boy in connection with vandalism at Pitcoudie Primary School earlier this month.

Pupils and staff at the Glenrothes school were heartbroken to discover that a communal garden had been trashed overnight between Tuesday November 1 and Wednesday November 2, with planters and other items scattered across a wide area.

Two benches, including one which was a memorial to Logan Carrie, the nine-year-old who was tragically killed while crossing the A92 last year, were also broken up.

More than two weeks on, police have confirmed that a 13-year-old boy has been charged and will be referred to the Children’s Reporter.

Meanwhile, a second boy has also been charged in connection with a separate incident where a wooden gazebo and plastic guttering were damaged at Thornton Primary School between November 9 and November 11.

The 14-year-old will also be referred to the Children’s Reporter.
