Scots guard query
“I wonder if someone can help,” emails Fiona Hynds of Kinross. “There is an article in the Somme pullout about a Jim Wallace whose dad was in the Scots Guards tank platoon. His name was William Wallace.
“My husband’s great-grandfather’s son was called Archibald Glen and died in Cambria, Luvenval. He was in the tanks and we have been to the cemetery there and put a Scots Guards wreath down.
“Subsequently, my husband served 22 years in the Scots Guards. We have no photographs or much information on Archibald Glen but wondered if anyone can help?
“His army number was 9116. He joined the Scots Guards on August 11, 1914.”
