Usain doesn’t live here
A reader who admits to being well into bus-pass territory warns of a problem likely to hit most of us as Christmas approaches – deliveries.
“Why is it,” my reader says, “that delivery drivers seem to think that behind every door lurks a Usain Bolt or Jess Ennis-Hill, poised a mere three strides away?
“I’m not exactly mobility-impaired, but if I’m at my keyboard, for example, I have to go down two flights of stairs and along the hall to reach the door – and when I open it, there’s a driver with a parcel already going out of my gate looking disappointed.
“I know these guys have a tight schedule, but others – like those they are delivering to – have lives to get on with too.”
