Hodge orders his men to find their cutting edge against Blues

-

Duncan Hodge has ordered his Edinburgh side to turn chances into points.

The caretaker chief issued his edict ahead of Edinbugh’s showdown with Cardiff Blues tonight.

And Hodge – who will revert to his backs coach role when Richard Cockerill fills the hot seat at the end of the season – wants his strugglers to prove to their Myreside fans that they CAN find a sharp edge.

He said: “There’s no hiding from the disappointment of last week’s result in Dublin, but we need to put that behind us and bounce back.

“We didn’t make the most of the chances we created against Leinster and that hurt us.

“It’s crucial that we learn from those mistakes and are more clinical this time around.

“We’re back on home turf and that’ll prove as a big boost for the side going into this encounter.

“We want to make amends in front of our fans.”

Blair Kinghorn comes into start in the back three where he will be joined by Rory Scholes, who is named on the wing.

Jason Tovey starts at stand-off with Duncan Weir on national team duty.

Hodge said: “We didn’t make the most of the chances we created last week and that hurt us. It’s crucial that we learn from those mistakes and are more clinical this time around.

“We’re back at home and that’ll prove as a big boost for the side going into this encounter.

“We want to make amends for last week’s result in front of our supporters and give them something to cheer about.”
