Orchestra rising to the challenge of Russian composers
Perth Symphony Orchestra is presenting an evening of classical works by Russian composers in a forthcoming concert.
Under the guidance of long-standing conductor Allan Young, the orchestra will perform at Perth Concert Hall on Saturday March 4 at 7.30pm.
Speaking ahead of the concert, Mr Young said: “From Borodin’s evocative Steppes of Central Asia to the love and sorrow of Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet Suites, there will be many beautiful melodies and stirring emotions.
“There is no greater test for a symphony orchestra than tackling one of Tchaikovsky’s mighty symphonies and it is a credit to the orchestra to feature his first symphony as part of the evening.”
