Fine after festival bus assault

-

A festival-goer had to be restrained by his family after attacking his former girlfriend on a bus back from T in the Park.

Ryan Bell pulled out a clump of Gemma Weston’s hair during the incident which happened on July 8 last year.

Perth Sheriff Court was told that the 20-year-old was travelling with his mother, aunt and a 17-year-old relative.

The teenage relative said an argument had broken out between Bell, who was drunk, and Ms Weston’s family, forcing her to hold him against a window.

The disruption led to the whole group eventually being thrown off the bus.

Bell was convicted of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner on a journey between Strathallan Castle and Auchterarder by shouting, swearing and uttering offensive remarks, and also to assaulting Ms Weston by pulling her and seizing her by the hair, to her injury.

Sheriff Lindsay Foulis fined the apprentice spray painter, of Braco, a total of £600.
