-

No one is to be charged in connection with the death of a three-week old baby in her home in Cupar, police have confirmed.

Violet-Ivy Turnbull was found dead in a flat in Kinloss Crescent in the early hours of October 23.

Police launched an investigation into her death, which they treated as unexplained. A report has been submitted to the Crown Office on their findings.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The final outcome of police inquiry into the death of Violet-Ivy Turnbull is unexplained infant death.”

Following Violet-Ivy’s death, her family issued a statement saying they were “devastated by the loss of our beautiful daughter, granddaughter and sister Violet-Ivy Turnbull”.

Floral tributes and messages were left outside Violet-Ivy’s home as news of the tragedy spread.
