SNP sell out of fishing industry

Sir, -The hypocrisy of the SNP takes my breath away. Fergus Ewing accused the UK Government of being about to sell out the Scottish fishing industry.

If the UK leaves the single market we have a chance of taking back control of our seas.

But the SNP insists Scotland should remain part of the single market and that would include remaining part of the Common Fisheries Policy with foreign fishermen free to continue buying up quota.

The SNP is hell-bent on making sure we continue to have no control of our fisheries and will try to foist a second referendum on us as part of this process. The SNP is no fisherman’s friend. A C Grant. Alturlie, Freuchie.
