Nansaroy can get it right at fourth attempt

tips: Williams’ charge backed after making strides in three chase outings

NANSAROY can hit the target for the first time over fences in the Forbra Gold Cup Handicap Chase at Ludlow.

Evan Williams pitches his runner in at the deep end having failed to get his head in front in three chase outings to date, but he has been making strides with each attempt.

His most recent eight-length defeat at the hands of Final Nudge showed what a positive effect headgear can have and while he was none too clever at the last, Nansaroy managed to regain momentum to lift the minor honours.

He is of plenty of interest switched to full handicap company on a rather lowly mark of 124. TWO SWALLOWS has won two of her last three starts and further augment those figures in the Racing UK Profits Returned To Racing Mares’ Handicap Hurdle.

A decent Doncaster winner in December, she found Happy Diva far too good at Wetherby before returning to her best to win at Towcester a couple of weeks ago.

She found plenty for pressure and looked as though she could continue to compete off a higher mark.

MAGISTRAL could be very well treated in Newcastle’s Betway Handicap on the pick of his form.

Having started life as a maiden winner with John Gosden back in 2013, the Manduro gelding has passed through a few trainers’ hands but is now part of Iain Jardine’s capable team.

Despite having been off the track since November 2015, Magistral made a very pleasing return to finish second at Gosforth Park on February 1, with a lack of match practice perhaps just telling close home.

His current perch of 72 is some 15lb below his best ever mark and he merits close inspection. SELECTIONS: LUDLOW: 2.20 Billy Hicks, 2.50 Kap Jazz, 3.25 Aliandy, 4.00 NANSAROY (NAP), 4.35 Two Swallows, 5.05 Persian Snow, 5.35 Cappielow Park.

NEWCASTLE: 2.10 Safe Voyage, 2.40 Jan Smuts, 3.10 Codeshare, 3.45 Magistral, 4.20 Ms Gillard, 4.55 Pacolita, 5.25 One Boy.

DOUBLE: Nansaroy and Magistral.
