“It was never a red card against Elgin and I am delighted we won our appeal,” he said.

“Thankfully, being reduced to 10 men didn’t cost us a point.

“We extended our great unbeaten away run to 10 games, which I am told is a new club record, and the lads deserve a lot for credit for that.

“While we will have Ricky available, I am trying to find another keeper as Dunfermline have recalled Cammy from his loan spell.

“Ricky Gomes is fit to take his place between the sticks against Clyde but we need experienced back-up on the bench for what is an important game for us.

“We will definitely be going along the same lines as the side that did so well at Elgin, and David Gold also comes into contention.

“Forfar made a great start to the season but we have been pulling them back.

“I always say championships are not won in September but in May so it should be an exciting end to the season,” he added. Edinburgh City have been a League Two side for less than a season but they are already well known to leaders Forfar.

Today’s match at Station Park will be the sixth time the Loons have faced the Meadowbank outfit.

“We are familiar with them and they are familiar with us,” said Forfar boss Gary Bollan.

“I am sure that, like me, their manager Gary Jardine will say that we are actually over familiar with each other as there are no surprises left between us.

“They won at Cowdenbeath last weekend.

“However they are still looking for points for safety and we will need to play well to get back to winning ways ourselves.”

Forfar have not won in their last four games, with their last outing ending in a 2-2 draw at Clyde in a game where goalkeeper Grant Adam was sent off for gesturing to the home fans after Jim Lister had grabbed an equaliser.

Bollan said: “I am looking to bring a keeper in to add to the squad as a result of Grant’s suspension. That is all that really needs said on that issue.”

He added: “Overall it was probably a good point at Clyde when you consider the last 20 minutes of the game.

“Jim showed his class by grabbing the equaliser and then, having used the three subs, we were down to 10 men with a midfielder in goal for the rest of the game.

“Martyn Fotheringham went in goal, and credit to him for doing that and he helped us see the game out.

“We got a point and that was decent in the circumstances.”

Skipper Gavin Swankie is expected to shake off an injury.
