Reflecting school life

-

Former pupils, parents and past and present staff of Kirkton High School and Baldragon Academy in Dundee hope to mark the closure of the building which was Dundee’s first purpose built comprehensive school and has been home to Baldragon Academy since 1997.

Baldragon Academy is not closing for good though. A walk down Harestane Road will take you to the site of its new campus which opens early next year.

Although the group is still at an early stage in the planning process, it is intended that events be held which reflect the life of both schools from 1960 through to the present day.

In addition, it has been suggested that an informal evening reunion be arranged at which folk will be able to share their memories on a more personal level.

The group would be delighted to hear from anyone willing to share memories, photographs or other memorabilia. More information can be found on the Facebook Group Page – Kirkton and Baldragon Reunion 2017 which will also include regular updates.

Alternatively you can email any memories, photographs or memorabilia to baldragonreunion@outlook.com

Anyone interested in attending a free exhibition within the school on November 17 should email baldragonexhibit@outlook.com with the number of attendees, their names and the dates they attended the school. If you would like to attend an evening reception on the same date, please email baldragonreception@outlook.com with the same information. Those wishing to attend should make an initial response no later than March 22 in order that numbers can established.
