Crieff tourist staff could become VIPs in new partnership

-

Staff working in the tourist industry in Crieff have the opportunity to receive VIP treatment.

The VisitScotland Information Partnership (VIP) will allow tourist employees to become local ambassadors for their town or region by providing first-class information to visitors.

It is part of VisitScotland’s new online and face-to-face community and Crieff BID has been named newest member of the VIP programme. VisitScotland and Perth and Kinross Council have been working with the organisation to help secure the future of the Crieff Town Hall building.

Work will begin to refurbish the premises next month, and once the project is completed – as part of the VIP programme – Crieff BID will provide local visitor information from the historic building.

Neil Combe, Crieff Succeeds BID manager, said: “We are delighted to be part of the VIP programme and look forward to welcoming visitors to our beautiful town.

“This exciting partnership will secure the long-term future of our historic Town Hall and allows us to continue to offer an element of local visitor information.”

And Jim Clarkson, VisitScotland regional director, added: “Crieff is a bustling town set amidst the stunning Perthshire scenery. It is home to some of the area’s most popular attractions and as such regularly attracts visitors.

“It is great news that Crieff BID is now part of the VIP programme. They are a fantastic example of a local ambassador helping to provide inspiration to holidaymakers looking to make the most of their time in the region.

“The VIP programme gives local businesses and organisations the tools they need to provide high-quality information to their visitors and guests.”

Jim Valentine, depute chief executive of Perth and Kinross Council, said he feels that Crieff BID joining the VIP programme shows their “commitment to continuing to welcome tourists to the town.”
