Teen admits knifing 15-year-old after downing drink and drugs
A schoolboy slashed a teenager across the face while high on a cocktail of drink and drugs.
The 15-year-old, who is too young to be publicly identified, attacked his victim after drinking half a litre of vodka and several caffeine-filled alcoholic drinks and taking two ecstasy tablets.
His victim, who was also 15, was left permanently scarred following the incident, in which the accused had told him “come outside and I’ll slash you”.
The culprit pled guilty to assaulting his victim by striking him twice on the face with a knife to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement in Perth on December 1.
Solicitor David Holmes, acting for the boy, said: “He is shocked at his own actions.
“On this day he had taken alcohol and drugs and was not in control of his actions.
“He was not the only person who was in this condition.
“He is aware that your lordship could impose a custodial sentence.”
Sheriff Lindsay Foulis warned the teenager his actions could potentially have had more serious consequences.
He said: “To drink half a litre of spirits, three cans of caffeinated alcoholic drink at 8% value and on top of that take two ecstasy tablets, it is no surprise that you have no recollection or control.
“If I had consumed that my state of sobriety would not be great – and I’m not talking as a teetotaller.
“Fortunately, although (the victim) was permanently disfigured, his injuries were not as serious as they could easily have been had you struck (him) elsewhere.”
Sentence was deferred to allow the teen to take part in the Right Track programme.
