Driver arrested after A9 crash
A 40-year-old woman has been arrested after a three-car crash near Perth.
Emergency services were scrambled to the collision on the A9 near Bankfoot, just after 6am yesterday.
The accident involved a silver Ford Fusion, a silver Mercedes C 2200 and one other vehicle.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said there were no major injuries.
She confirmed that one motorist, a woman aged 40, had been arrested in connection with the incident and was due to appear at Perth Sheriff Court today.
Firefighters were also called to the incident, but were not required to help free anyone from their vehicles.
Crews helped remove debris from the carriageway and ensure the area was safe.
Transport Scotland said the road was partially blocked after the crash, but commuters said traffic was at a standstill for about an hour.
Lengthy tailbacks were reported in both directions.
One commuter said: “There was quite a queue this morning.
“Technically the road was partially open, but it brought everything to a standstill for some time.”
The stretch was reopened just after 7am.
Emergency crews were also called to a crash at Perth’s Glasgow Road just after 8am.
One person was injured in the two-vehicle collision and was treated at the scene by paramedics.
