A Scotland fan has had his bottom tattooed with the title of a Coldplay song – after footballer Chris Martin scored a late winner for the national side.

Callum Strang, 22, tweeted his disgust at Gordon Strachan’s decision to bring the striker Martin off the bench in the closing stages as Scotland chased a winning goal against Slovenia.

The landscape gardener from North Queensferry, wrote: “Chris Martin coming on. Strachan playing for a draw again. If he scores the winner I’ll get Viva la Vida tattooed on my a**e #Coldplay.”

And after being booed on to the pitch by the Hampden Park crowd, Martin scored the winner in the 88th minute.

Callum then tweeted: “Ah well that’s the a**e getting inked then eh,” – and yesterday he made good on his promise.

In front of his laughing colleagues and boss, who had decided to start work later, Callum got the words: “Chris Martin, Viva La Vida, 1-0, 26/03/17,” on his right cheek.

After being tattooed at the Crossroads Tattoo Studio in Rosyth, Callum said: “It was painful, it nipped a bit, but I’m surprised by how happy I am with it.

“It looks smart and I’ve got writing on my calf in the same style so it fits in with that quite well. The tattoo studio were good enough to do it for free and the boss and my colleagues came to lend their support – or laugh, one of the two.”
