Campbell says Lichties still have momentum

-

Dick Campbell is confident that last weekend’s draw with Forfar hasn’t checked Arbroath’s League Two promotion momentum.

The Gayfield boss didn’t believe it was win or bust before the Angus derby and he hasn’t changed his mind after it.

The Red Lichties are just one point behind Gary Bollan’s men in what is now a two-team title race, and have a better goal difference.

So it’s still very much a case of game on as far as he’s concerned as his team prepare to face Edinburgh City this afternoon.

“The way some people were talking, it was a game we had to win,” said Campbell.

“We had five great chances and lost a poor goal.

“But we’ve just drawn 1-1 with the league leaders and deserved to win.

“There’s no reason to feel down and we’re still in a title race.

“Our form has been good and we’ve still got momentum.”

Forfar have another Angus derby – against Montrose – this afternoon, but Campbell isn’t looking at fixture lists and where their rivals may drop points between now and the end of the season.

“All I’m focused on is Edinburgh City,” he said.

“They’re a good side who will get our full respect. If results go our way elsewhere, then great.”

Josh Skelly should be available for today’s game.
