Historic railway items on display at community campus

-

Some of the historic items being gathered for the Crieff Lines Railway Festival have gone on display within the town’s community campus library.

They include the cap worn by the station master David Hay in 1964, which was made by the same uniform-makers used for the staff of the Queen.

Also on display is a guard’s whistle, the evocatively-named Acme Thunderer, which was of the same type issued to officers on board the Titanic.

The items have been donated by Dave Ferguson, who is organising the festival, which will take place between September 1 and 3. Email fergie.4@aol.com for more information.
