Know McGregor’s?

-

“Whilst digging over the back garden the other day I came across a Bakelite screwcap lid (see below) embossed with ‘McGregor’s Dundee’ in yellow lettering,” emails Mike Hall of Barry.

“I’ve tried the usual online searching including websites covering Dundee history and can find no mention of this company.

“The lid is of a size which could be off an old sweet jar or similar and, it being made of Bakelite, and with the style of lettering it may be from the 1950s or 60s. It is a little over 4” / 100mm across.

“There used to be a Post Office and shop next door, which makes me believe that it was discarded from there.

“Would any readers be able to throw light on McGregor’s and what they made or supplied?”
