No Canning complaints after Schalk theatrics

-

Manager Martin Canning is more concerned by Hamilton’s battle to beat the drop than dwelling on incidents such as Alex Schalk’s dive which handed relegation rivals Ross County a precious point against Celtic.

With every club in the bottom six still in danger of the drop, the Staggies were given a massive boost when Schalk’s theatrics which have since earned him a two-match ban earned them a 2-2 draw in Dingwall in the last round of Ladbrokes Premiership fixtures a fortnight ago.

But Canning insists there will be no sour grapes from his camp – even though it could negatively impact their own survival prospects.

Canning said: “I don’t have any frustration with the fact Ross County got a point out of it because they have worked hard and got their draw. That’s football.

“I haven’t gone back and watched all 32 of County’s games before that but I’m pretty sure if I did there would be a few decisions which have gone against them.

“It’s about worrying about what we do rather than trying to pin the blame on someone else.”
