Bluebell aim to close with another win

-

Dundonald Bluebell bring the curtain down on a highly-successful first top flight campaign hoping to complete the double over Bonnyrigg Rose.

They head to New Dundas Park with just one defeat in 12 league outings and every chance of a top six finish.

Their hosts, though, will be desperate to maintain their title challenge.

Bluebell are without regular keeper James Lennox and Paul Quinn, while Ricky Patrick is doubtful.

Meanwhile, Kelty Hearts, who have gone off the boil recently, welcome Bo’ness United.

Tam Courts’ side have dropped eight points in their last five league outings, and with just four games left, can’t really afford to give Bonnyrigg any further incentive.

Not that their guests are in great form, last week’s 5-1 win over relegationthreatened Musselburgh ending a fivegame winless run.

At the other end of the table, Carnoustie host Jeanfield Swifts who have slipped back into the relegation play-off slot.

Laing Park boss Alan McSkimming expects to have a full squad as they look to prevent a hat-trick of defeats.

Swifts’ cause is far from a lost one as they are unbeaten in their last five outings. They are boosted by the returns of Stuart McDiarmid, Chris Scott, James Yeats and Scott Sutherland, though player/boss Ross Gunnion is doubtful and Keith Dewar is suspended.

Broughty Athletic were hardly impressive last week in overcoming Violet to reach the GA Cup final and boss Keith Gibson knows an improvement will be required at home to Broxburn United, particularly given their 3-2 defeat to the visitors in the recent East of Scotland Cup clash.

Defender Jamie McCunnie is the Fed’s only absentee.

Having picked up just two points from five games, Hill of Beath probably require a couple of wins from the final five games to seal safety.

However, they have a difficult match this afternoon at home to second from top Penicuik Athletic.

Lochee United welcome a Newtongrange Star side desperately bidding to beat the drop.

Consecutive victories have hoisted them out of the relegation zone but with just two games left, they are precariously placed.

However, the Lothian side showed their resilience with last week’s 4-1 win over Carnoustie and followed it up with a midweek win over fellow strugglers Musselburgh.

Lochee will again be without Connor Birse, Graeme Hay and Scott Webster.
