Annual event for young carers
More than 120 young carers and family members attended an event organised by Perth and Kinross Association of Voluntary Service (PKAVS).
The charity recently held its 10th annual young carers consultation event.
A spokesperson for PKAVS confirmed that more than 120 young carers and family members attended, and said it was deemed a great success.
“The young carers’ consultation is a chance to update families on the support and services available to them, to gain feedback and input from the young carers themselves,” he said.
“It’s also an opportunity to discover what they need and would like to see offered in terms of support.”
The spokesperson continued: “The event has received positive feedback from young carers and family members, and this feedback is currently being collated to help PKAVS continue to deliver appropriate support going forward.”
Billy Morrison, PKAVS’ young carers’ coordinator, said: “Our annual consultation event contributes hugely towards how the service is shaped in the coming year, seeking feedback and suggestions from the young carers and the families who know what would support them best.”
PKAVS’s vision is a Perth and Kinross where all communities are inclusive and connected and local people reach their potential.
