Mr Thomson outlined the Corporation’s proposed housing scheme to a large number of the public in Gilfillan Hall. Mr Thomson said while the population of Dundee had increased by 7,000 in five years, there was a diminution of 433 houses, and to that fell to be added 605 houses that are to be abolished in Overgate, thereby bringing the deficiency up to 1,038.

Transport giant Stagecoach has been forced into a U-turn over controversial changes to one of its busiest Perthshire services. The company was criticised by residents in Scone after the number seven service was withdrawn from stops around the park-andride at the western edge of the village. In September 2014, dozens of protesters attended a gathering to show their frustration at the changes. Now, more than a year on, Stagecoach has confirmed a review of its timetable.
