Caledonian Marts Ltd sold 1,608 prime lambs, hoggets, ewes andtups yesterday. Spring lambs (22) sold to 265ppkg or £144 from from J Wilson, Balhelvie, Newburgh, for a 43 kilo Charolais lamb. Lambs (22) ave 217.2ppkg Prime hoggets (1,246) sold to 254ppkg from JB Guthrie, Cuiltburn, for a 41kilo Beltex and to a top of £113 for a pen of ten 47.6 kilo Beltex’s from J McAllister, West Thomaston, Banknock.
