Book of condolence opened in memory of Ken Drummond
A book of condolence has been opened at Seven Acres to allow people from across Perth and Kinross to remember the late Ken Drummond.
It will remain open for two weeks in tribute to a man who, as co-founder and president of Letham Community Sports Club, did so much for generations of young people.
Family, friends, club members past and present and representatives from the footballing world all gathered at Perth Crematorium this week to celebrate the life of a man who gave 57 years of service to the community.
The service was led by Lucie Johnston, a celebrant of the Humanist Society of Scotland, who regaled the attendees with stories of Ken’s life and achievements.
Letham Community Sports Club secretary and close friend Jon Kidd said: “Ken leaves behind a legacy in the form of Letham Football Club, which he founded in 1960 and which under his guidance has grown to 28 teams and more than 500 members.
“There was standing room only at Perth Crematorium and the service made it clear just how many people had been touched by Ken’s passing and how sorely he will be missed.
“In due course the club and its members will turn their attention to a fitting long-term memorial to Ken as a tribute to his massive contribution.”
Jon added: “The club would like to thank everyone who has expressed their condolences over the past week, left flowers at Seven Acres and signed the book of condolences.
“It will remain open at Seven Acres for another two weeks to allow anyone who wishes to do so to come and add their wishes.”
