LUNCARTY. President Jean Siddle welcomed tellers from Cluny WRI. A fun quiz was organised by Bell McNaughton. New president is Mrs Jean McIntosh. Competitio­ns: hand-knitted tea cosy – Susie Davidson; Jubilee Cup – 1 Bell McNaughton, 2 Susie Davidson; Mhairi Wylie Quiach – Susie Davidson.

SCONE. Speaker was Deborah Gray who spins and dyes natural fibres for knitting. Competitio­ns: baby hat and bootees – 1 Audrey Laing, 2 Joyce Robertson; fruit slice – Joyce Robertson; flower of the month – 1 Margaret Manson, 2 Audrey Laing, 3 equal Eleanor Crichton, Betty Cameron, Louise Goodison.

SILVIE and RUTHVEN. President Joy Reid welcomed everyone. Prizewinne­rs: 1 Margaret Bruce, 2 Joy Reid, 3 Jackie McCowan; flower of the month crystal vase – Evelyn Nicoll. A new committee was appointed with Joy Reid as president.

STRATHEARN GROUP. Mrs I Robertson welcomed all to the meeting at Fowlis Wester. Doreen Arnott and friends entertaine­d. Mary Docherty is new group secretary. Hostesses were Comrie and Fowlis Wester. TAY VALLEY GROUP. The meeting took place in Caputh, hosted by Caputh and Spittalfie­ld institute. Federation chairwoman Ursula Stewart gave a talk on her years leading up to joining the Rural, and group vice-chairwoman Susan McGhie read several poems.
