£30,000 improvement project
Footway improvements costing £30,000, planned for the A85 through St Fillans village, will begin next week.
The works to almost half a kilometre of the footways will see the surface replaced, along with improvements to the bus stop waiting areas.
The scheme is expected to take up to two weeks to complete, starting on Monday June 5. The improvements will be carried out between 7am to 7pm each day, with no works taking place at weekends.
The A85 will remain open through the village and temporary traffic lights will be in place to protect workers, road users and pedestrians.
A temporary footway will be put in place to accommodate pedestrians during the works.
Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s North West representative, said: “These essential footway resurfacing works will upgrade the surface, greatly improving the safety for pedestrians, and will also provide improved waiting areas at the bus stops.
“The teams will do all they can to limit the impact of these improvements and will work to complete the resurfacing as quickly and safely as possible.
“We thank motorists for their patience in advance and would also encourage them to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date travel information.”
