ROCKTALK GIG GUIDE

-

Fife legends Lights Out By Nine continue their 30th anniversary celebrations with a show at Watts of Cupar tomorrow night.

The band take to the road this weekend for their little run of June live gigs, and tickets (available from Watts) are in high demand.

Their new EP will be with them next week and launches at Linton Lane Centre in Kirkcaldy on Saturday, June 10.

LOBN are absolutely delighted to announce that for their EP launch and charity event in Kirkcaldy, local author Bill Devlin will be joining them as part of a promotion for his new book The Splinter Man.

A spokesman for the band said: “The subject matter and geography of this book will have particular reference to several LOBN members and hopefully many of the audience at a time when they were all experiencing the rock and roll explosion and all the peripheral activities (good, bad and downright ugly) that accompanied it.

“The rest is for you to read and discover, and, as the saying goes, if you remember any of it, you weren’t there.”

More details and anecdotes on the night are promised.

“In between these two shows we will be back at our Edinburgh hangout at the Jazz Bar on Chambers Street on Friday 9, before rounding things off in Glasgow, at The Ferry on June 17.

“As if that isn’t enough and with more details of the new release coming this week, we will shortly be announcing some big gigs in Scotland and England, through July to September, with some very special and very well-known musical guests.
